Emergency Preparedness Fair
This free event will take place on Saturday, May 11, at Sassarini Elementary School, 652 Fifth St. W. from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The Emergency Preparedness Fair will feature presentations from the American Red Cross, Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. In addition, there will be a variety of informational booths.
Participating agencies will provide a range of information from communication sources, health services, home and renters insurance, community resources, fire-safe landscaping, and financial literacy. There will also be a Fun Zone with engaging kid’s activities organized by The Club Maxwell Village, as well as an interactive healing art activity by Sonoma County artist Martin Zúñiga.
Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue, and the Sonoma Sheriff’s Office will also have emergency vehicles and mobile units on display.
The event is bilingual and is free. There will be free food from La Escondida Food Truck and families will receive a free emergency kit while supplies last.
Participating agencies include, AAA Sonoma, Allstate, American Red Cross, the Sonoma Ecology Center, Exchange Bank, Farmers Insurance, KSVY, La Luz Center, Pets Lifeline, Redwood Credit Union, Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce, Sonoma County 211, Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, Sonoma County Human Services, Sonoma Valley Hospital, Sonoma Valley Fire and Rescue and Vintage House Senior Center.
